Many people need to replace one or more teeth over their lifetimes whether it’s due to decay, injury, infection, or other reasons. Thankfully, we have a few options to consider. Before making a decision, it’s best to consult with Dr. Metwally on which treatment is optimal for you given your dental history, goals, and budget. Here are three of the most common restorative treatments you’ll want to know about.
Bridges
Bridges are a less invasive treatment than other options. In the procedure, the healthy teeth on either side of the missing ones act as anchors. A gum-colored string of artificial teeth called a dental bridge is created to replace the missing teeth. Bridges are not a permanent solution to missing teeth because they need to be replaced over time.
Dental Implants
Dental Implants are titanium fixtures that are surgically implanted into the jawbone. They’re sturdy, durable, and look natural. You don’t need to worry about what you eat, take extra steps to clean your teeth, or feel self-conscious about smiling. The recovery time usually takes a few weeks, but implants can last a lifetime.
Dentures
Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to custom fit in the areas of missing teeth. A suction seal is used to keep them in place. We offer full dentures, which replace an entire arch of teeth, and partial dentures which are secured with a clasp that attaches on surrounding teeth. Speaking and eating may be an adjustment, but dentures are removable and easy to clean. They are also more affordable than dental implants. However, they will need to be remade later down the line as your teeth shift over the years.
Financing Options
We understand the financial burdens that the cost of these treatments may impose. That’s why we offer various payment options and aim to maximize your health insurance benefits. And if you don’t have insurance, we also have an in-house dental membership plan with discounts for services.
